Adding a user to the HPCf mail system

Email for the hpcf is hosted on mail.hpcf.upr.edu (currently mail).

To add an email account login to the qmailadmin interface as postmaster, then select New Email Account from the main menu.

#Note: Remember to check the Spam filter option to automatically create the Spam Box.

This creates the email account mailto:firstname@hpcf.upr.edu , mail can be read from imap or pop at mail.hpcf.upr.edu, or via the web at http://webmail.hpcf.upr.edu/ . If you want to be able to see your email both locally and remotely via webmail use the IMAP protocol, not POP3 when you configure your local client. It is important to include the "@hpcf.upr.edu" in the username when configuring your mail client, both inbound and outbound mail servers require your full email address as the username.

Staff members should also be included in the staff mailing list mailto:staff@hpcf.upr.edu. The administrator can add new users to the list at account creation time.
