Computer Workstation Teaching Laboratories

The HPCf has several Workstation equipped teaching labs with projectors, and videoconferencing equipment.

There are two teaching laboratories available for the UPR community. The first is located at the main HPCf location on the grounds of the UPR Experimental Station. The second is found in the Mayaguez campus of the UPR, in the Mathematics Department (Monzon building).

Each of the facilities is equipped with a dozen or so UNIX workstations (SGI O2 or Octane running current version of the IRIX operating system) and Linux workstations (running latest RedHat package).

The facilities are available for the following purposes:

  • as a convenient access to our supercomputing and visualization resources,
  • as a location to conduct workshops and hands-on computer-based training,
  • as a location to develop software with the help of the HPCf's programming specialists,
  • as a location for graduate students to work on computational science projects.

More information about the Mayagüez facility can be found here
